I was collecting tea pots and plates left over from guests enjoying blueberry pie in the library last nite - yes, I baked another pie. disclaimer: I don't ALWAYS bake pie for guests -- but having made a pie one nite, guests raved about it to guests checking in who asked 'what time is pie?'


So, this morning EARLY as I was carrying a tipsy pile of dishes from the library, I lost my grasp on a tea pot. My first thought was - I hope I didn't wake up the house!

There are several happy little teapots, with mugs that sit underneath. You put your tea in the pot, fill with hot water, cover it and let it steep. Then, when ready, you pour some into the cup.

I have been debating about whether or not to try to glue the handle back on the teapot, but now I see that the little knob on the lid also broke off and has scurried away somewhere ... lost in a dark corner of the kitchen floor during 'the crash' ... after breakfast is served, I'll hunt for it. Not something I could glue and have guests use, but could keep 'in house' for myself. Like all the towels that get random stains on them that won't come out ... sheets on my bed are a kaleidoscope of colors (all stained) ... and I pamper myself in a guest bathrobe that has a hideous brown stain from hair color down the back. I found the evidence in the trash in the shared bath.

But back to that teapot ....

Sad to break something, I always feel a sense of loss when that happens ... however small. ~m*
