The Good, the Bad and the Groceries.

Article by Michael Sicurello.

Clint Eastwood had to deal with immediate threats to his health in the classic western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.”  One wrong choice and he was going to be rather unhealthy, rather quickly.

Conversely, most people in real life get unhealthy fairly slowly. Our bad guys are hiding in the grocery store, waiting for us to invite them into our lifestyle. Over time, grocery store bad guys can steal our gold and make us wish we had made better choices.

This article introduces the 10 most wanted grocery store bad guys, and then provides 10 easy choices that help keep things from getting ugly.

“10 Grocery Store Bad Guys.”

Bad Guy #1 - There is general consensus in the medical community that high levels of saturated fats (mainly animal products) in the diet contribute directly to arteriosclerosis, heart disease and stroke by forming dangerous amounts of plaque in the circulatory system.

If your diet emphasizes meat and dairy products (the mainstays of traditional American cuisine), the odds are much higher that both your lifespan and quality of life will be diminished.

Over-consumption of meat and dairy products is contributing to epidemic levels of disease.

Bad Guy #2 - Un-tested genetically modified organisms (GMO’s) have flooded the American food supply. GM corn contains its own genetically implanted poison that is strong enough to kill the bugs that eat it.

Why on earth would anyone want to eat something with “built in poison”? What are the long term health effects on humans? No one knows.
