Ten Cookbooks I Use Often for Vegetables...
The Herbfarm Cookbook Jerry Traunfeld is one of my favorite cooks. A few years back, the New York Times traveled the country, looking for the best restaurant meal in America. Traunfeld's restaurant won that honor. This book is a wonderful reference for everything you need to know about growing, harvesting, using, and storing herbs, but it's also a book full of delicious recipes. I look to this one often when cooking vegetables or anything else. Traunfeld's book, The Herbal Kitchen, is a collection of delicious, easy to make recipes. I love that one, too.
Gardener's Community Cookbook
This is a great book. It's a collection of recipes from gardener-cooks all over America, but it's no ho-hum collection. The editor of this book is a well-known cook and food writer, and she is very picky about the recipes she chooses. Many chefs and well-known food people (Alice Waters and Lindsey Shere, to name two) contributed to this book. There are lots of great ideas here!
